EU Challenger League Quals survival guide

Season XI Challenger League qualifiers start in 3 days. I've broken down the top 10 teams to watch out for, in order of who I think will be most likely to qualify.

Would like to quickly thank Prox (Follow him on Twitter) for the help and value add with the T3 teams noted here:

Izidream

Assuming they're playing it (they're not currently signed up). Izidream are my number 1 pick for teams to watch at CL Quals. Izidream are an aggressive and quick paced team that are quite exciting to watch -tending to go for kills over executes.

Team:

Chaoxys

P4

Dirza

Shiinka

KuQuS

Recent achievements:

Lower bracket run in EU SI closed qualifiers, knocking out Ex Gameward and ForZe.

3rd @ Rainbow 6 French League LAN

Map to watch out for:

Border/Kafe

Opinion

Izi look really strong. They've beaten PL/CL teams recently and taken maps from Giants in R6FL . They knocked out ForZe in the Closed SI quals and also have a very varied map pool.

I don't see how they don't make CL.

MnM

UK MASSIVE. Okay I'm biased here but has anyone else in this list had the fairy tale run that MnM had? No. Okay. MnM are an attacker preferred, execute heavy team that are very strict in their co-ordination - expect disciplined attacks from them.

Team:

Pacbull

Drak

Dats

Nathan

Jonka

Recent achievements:

2nd UK Prem LAN - winning online season unbeaten (including beating current PL champions - NaVi)

Fairytale run in Closed SI Quals - knocking out 3 PL teams including G2

Map to watch out for:

Clubhouse

Opinion:

Something is in the water with this UK team, they're the ones to beat in my eyes. MnM are great attacking team, usually the sign of a T1/T2 team.

MKERS

MKERS are an Italian based team that compete in (and won) PG Nationals. They've been around T3/T2 consistently in terms of both players and the core team. MKERS have a balanced system with a traditional entry approach and a very organised defence.

Team:

Alation

Torok

Sloppy

SirBoss

AueR

Recent achievements:

Winning PG Nationals LAN - 3:1 vs Samsung Morning Stars

Qualified for but lost on the first day of SI Closed Qualifiers. Lost vs Vitality and ex Gameward

Map to watch out for:

Clubhouse

Opinion:

MKERS are always there or there abouts, i think they will be strong here, getting to the late stages of the Qualifiers.

Salamander

Salamander are a Hungarian team that should have been in Challenger League X, but for a late protest for their use of the-then Pro League player SirBoss. Expect to see lots of them casted as EsportHuTV cast them on a regular basis.

Team:

Strike

Headsut

DogeFather

Lino

w1oza

Recent achievements:

Salamander should have qualified for CL Season X.

They made it to the Invitational Closed Qualifier, also beating Challenger League Penta in the process.

Map to watch out for:

Seem to have a 4 map pool - Club, Kafe, Bank and Border

Opinion:

Salamander are organised and look for executes/plants - they don't rely on pure frags. This can often be the difference between a T3 team and and a Challenger League team. They could be dangerous!

Yunktis Blue

YnK are a predominantly French roster - they are now called ToZeDrop on ESL play as of 30th December. YnK are an aggro team, they love being aggressive, challenging early entry - especially on defence.

Team:

Whiteshark67

Prime

Dareal

Aurel

Mostafa

Recent achievements:

Qualifying for the Closed SI Qualifiers, beating current CL team in Penta

Map to watch out for:

Play a very varied map pool

Opinion:

YnK are an aggressive team that really could take teams by surprise - they can be great on their day - taking G2 to overtime on Villa when attacking first. Could be a dark horse.

I am looking for advertising partners to work with, please see my advertising page here

Pats Asleep (T10)

Pats Asleep - or T10 as their new org is called - are a dangerous but useful team. Also from the UK they really surprised everyone recently - competing well at a relatively high level.

Team:

Rum

P4t

Yuzus

KzX

Joshuaglitch

Dowey

Recent achievements:

Qualifying for the Closed SI Qualifiers, taking Chaos to overtime on Coastline winning 6 rounds in a row.

Map to watch out for:

Kafe

Opinion:

T10 are unpredictable, they don't know what they're going to do themselves. Underestimate them at your peril.

CrowCrowd

CC are a Russian team that play in Russian Major League and are a competent tier 3 team.

Team:

Namea

Johnny

Amison

Nikp

Frey

Recent achievements:

4th in Russian Major League (Losing to Empire and Unique

Map to watch out for:

All - big and varied map pool

Opinion:

CrowCrowd have a atypical Russian playstyle, they're competing regularly with two PL teams in ForZe and Empire but they play more random, relying on individual plays to win. They are however, very dangerous because of that !

Unique

Unique, the same as CrowCrowd are a Tier 3 Russian team. They however have quite a contrasting style.

Team:

flaers0

Rush

Toda

Zheka

SmashByAsh

Recent achievements:

3rd in Russian Major League, losing to ForZe twice and beating CrowCrowd.

Map to watch out for:

All - big and varied map pool

Opinion:

Unique have a more structured playstyle, very organised and aggressive. They do however look to take kills over plants. The Russian play style is something that has been proven to be successful over and over with Empire and ForZe taking the same exact route Unique are expecting.

Movistar Riders

MRS are a relatively new hybrid team formed of half X6 and half original MRS. They play Spanish league

Team:

Billordo

FOSKITo

D4rK1

weskeRR

Scythe

Recent achievements:

2nd Spanish Nationals (old roster)

Competitive T3 team consistently.

Map to watch out for:

Club, Border and Bank

Opinion:

MRS are a fused team that look set for their sights being CL. An org backed with money that will no doubt be hoping for success - time will tell but they're definitely a contender.

SYGYZY

Sygyzy are a French team with plenty of experience, formerly of CL Season X they'll be looking to claim their place back in CL again after being relegation.

Team:

Avadentt

Duckii.

Nztro

Osarck

Vegzs

Recent achievements:

CL Season X - finishing 5th. Beating BDS 7-0 on final playday

Map to watch out for:

Club, Villa and Border

Opinion:

Syzygy are a good, quality team. They have plenty of experience at this kind of level and actually won't really be afraid of anyone. I think there are better challengers to claim the place, but Syzygy wont be far off that pace either.
